F. De Isabella was born in Milan, in 1984. After graduating in filmmaking and photography at Civica Scuola di Cinema of Milan, in 2009 Fra co-founds Strasse with Sara Leghissa, a performing art group that worked in public space. At the same time, in 2007, they starts D-jaying with the pseudonymous ubi broki, organizing elctro-romantic-queer parties. They have collaborated in italy with, among others: Far festival des art vivant (CH), Vooruit Kunstencentrum (BE), Festival de Marseille (FR), Santarcangelo Festival (ITA), Short Festival (ITA), Triennale di Milano (ITA), Centrale Fies (ITA) In the last years Fra works as sound designer for the performances of Giorgia Ohanesian Nardin, Titta Raccagni and Chiara Bersani as well as D-Jaying with Cristina Crystal Rizzo e Daniele Ninarello presenting it in: Kampnagel (DE), Rencontres chorégraphiques (FR), Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo (CO), Black Box Teater (NO), HAU Hebbel am Ufer (DE), IETM (Madrid), Alkantara Festival - Teatro Nacional D. Maria II (PT). With other artists, for some years now, Fra has been asking from the desire and necessity of looking into the dynamics, approaches, questions, and issues related to “art making” from a queer and transfeminist perspective. In 2021 he presented “DICIOTTANNI | simultaneously an arch of 18 years and being 18 years old, coming of age” at Centrale Fies, the first part of his first work as a single author.
